The Fall of the House of Usher: How does Madeline involve Lenore in her immortality project?

In the seventh episode of The Fall of the House of Usher, titled "The Pit and the Pendulum," Madeline is deeply involved in her immortality project and seeks to involve Lenore as well. After witnessing Roderick's betrayal in court, Madeline is devastated and realizes that the Usher family's pursuit of power comes at a great cost. Tormented by the death of Tamerlane and her encounter with Verna, Madeline returns to her childhood home in search of answers. In her childhood home, Madeline finds Verna and engages in a conversation that reveals the existence of an agreement between Madeline, Roderick, and Verna. While the specifics of this pact are unclear, it is clear that it involves death in some way. Madeline attempts to alter the terms of the agreement and even tries to kill Verna, but Verna proves to be unkillable.Madeline reminds Roderick of the terms of their contract, stating, "Into the world together, out of the world together, or there is no deal." This convinces Roderick that he must take his own life with a Ligodone overdose. Madeline believes that this is the right course of action, the only way to fulfill their agreement. However, as Madeline departs, Verna intervenes and wakes Roderick from his slumber, suggesting that escaping their fate will not be so simple.Meanwhile, Frederick, another member of the Usher family, is also vying for power and intends to become the CEO of Fortunato. He goes to extreme lengths to torment his wife, Morelle, while keeping her isolated. Frederick subjects Morelle to various forms of torture, even using a nightshade paralyzing drug to render her defenseless. Verna, who has grown accustomed to the Ushers' cruelty, reaches her breaking point and secretly causes Frederick to unknowingly ingest the paralyzer.Later, at the demolition site of Prospero's lab, Frederick falls victim to the effects of the paralyzer. Verna confronts him, expressing her disappointment in his actions and how he pushed her to intervene. Through a staged communication, Verna gives the demolition crew the go-ahead to bring down the building. A swinging beam eventually falls and tragically splits Frederick's body in half, marking the end of the Usher children. However, this does not spell the end of the Usher dynasty entirely. Lenore, a member of the Usher family, is still alive, but her situation is uncertain. Madeline has been working on an immortality project involving artificial intelligence, and she potentially involves Lenore in this project. The conversations between Roderick and Dupin, as well as the text messages Roderick receives from Lenore, imply that Madeline may have transformed Lenore into something beyond human or even beyond living.Overall, "The Pit and the Pendulum" reveals Madeline's deep involvement in her immortality project and her attempt to involve Lenore in it. The mysterious agreement with Verna and the consequences faced by the Usher family add a layer of intrigue and darkness to the story. The episode sets the stage for further exploration of these themes in the miniseries' finale.
