Loki: Why does Loki want to save Victor Timely?

Loki Season 2, Episode 3 introduces us to Victor Timely, a variant of Kang. Unlike the Kang we have seen in previous Marvel movies, Victor is portrayed as timid and not the evil mastermind we would expect. He is a con man who swindles others with his creations. Loki and Mobius want to bring him back to the TVA to get his temporal aura scanned. However, Sylvie, who has made it her mission to kill all Kang variants, intercepts them.Victor escapes with Ravonna and Miss Minutes, but in his lab, he discovers that Miss Minutes has developed romantic feelings for him. It's revealed that she is in love with He Who Remains, the creator of the TVA. Miss Minutes now partners with Ravonna, hinting at their plans for revenge. The episode takes us back to 1893 during the World Fair in Chicago. Loki and Mobius finally encounter Victor, who is presenting his temporal loom on stage. They realize that they can use his temporal aura to unlock the blast doors at the TVA. However, chaos ensues when Sylvie appears, determined to kill Victor. She sees him as another version of He Who Remains, someone who robbed the universe of free will.Sylvie and Loki engage in a magical fight, separating them. Victor manages to escape with Ravonna, who also has no intention of fixing the TVA. They take a boat to his lab, but it becomes evident that Miss Minutes is jealous of Ravonna. After Victor locks Miss Minutes away, Ravonna reveals her true intentions of gaining control over the TVA. Loki, Mobius, and Sylvie arrive, resulting in a showdown at the lab.Sylvie initially wants to kill Victor but ultimately lets Loki and Mobius take him away when she realizes he is different from He Who Remains. In a final act, Sylvie sends Ravonna through a time door to the End of Time. The episode concludes with the question of what will happen to Victor now that he is with the TVA.The introduction of Victor Timely as a new version of Kang adds an interesting dynamic to the story. Unlike the conniving and domineering Kang we are familiar with, Victor is portrayed as a more human, awkward, and nerdy variant. This difference in personalities showcases the various facets of Kang variants. Victor's character raises questions about where he will ultimately land in terms of alignment by the end of the season.Miss Minutes' role in the episode is another intriguing development. It is revealed that she has developed deeper feelings for He Who Remains and desires a full body to lead beside him. This adds complexity to her character and her motivations. With Miss Minutes and Ravonna now working together, the possibilities for their future actions in the season seem endless.Overall, Episode 3 of Loki Season 2 fills in some narrative gaps and takes us back to what made the show enjoyable in its first season. The time-traveling to 1893 immerses us in the rich historical setting of the World Fair, with detailed costuming and captivating visuals. The episode juggles multiple storylines, including Miss Minutes' revelation, Loki's ponderings about Nordic deities, and the potential consequences of exposing Victor to future technology. With Victor now with the TVA, the direction of his character arc becomes uncertain, leaving us curious about what lies ahead in the season.
